The Myth: Jupiter, (Zeus,) took the form of a beautiful Gentle White Bull, Taurus, in order to seduce Europa, daughter of King Agenor.
When she was in a field picking flowers, the bull stared at her longingly. She became enamored of the Gentle Bull and made him a garland of the flowers. However, when she got on his back to ride him, he plunged into the sea and carried the frightened Princess to the island of Crete. Once there he changed into a Great Eagle and ravaged Europa. Jupiter then revealed himself and they married and had 3 sons.
